FLU-O RADIO USER MANUAL
Installation
Setup_RadioPlayout.exe launch and follow the signs.
We recommend installing Flu-O Radio Playout recommended folder (C: \ Program Files (x86) \ BitOnLive \ Flu-O Radio Playout)
License Updater
After installing the software open the Windows Start menu -> BitOnLive-> License Updater
This will open the next window in which to enter e-mail and code to activate the purchased license.
The e-mail address you will be sent an e-mail from license@bitonlive.com containing a file, save it to your desktop and start Flu-O to activate it.
Configuration
Click the icon to launch the Radio Playout Configuration software. In the first mask you set the shared folder, the folder where to find the data and write the log of the program, you select the channel and the computer on which to make changes. Click Edit button to set the parameters of the channel: the new tab will appear.
Device
- Output Device: select the main output
- Multiple stream: if enabled, you can set up multiple stream output
- Preview Device: select the device for cueing
- Device manager: if software is installed Device Manager, Select the reference computer.
- Log
- Max log days: number of days to store the log application
- Broadcast Address: enter the address of communication between applications
Start
In the configuration you can run playout automation program startup (Start).
- Startup ON / OFF: If ON will start playing the playlist at the opening of the program.
- Filler ON / OFF: when ON failing playlist will automatically send the files included in the playlist FILLER.
- Enable Color ON / OFF: ON if the playlist in Flu-O will be active in the colors set Philo for categories.
- Change volume
- Manual input: if enabled will ignore months and times enabled / disabled if the file is manually entered by user
- Export info elements: file will be generated containing additional information about files in playlists (for streaming)
- Automatic playlist load can be disabled ON/OFF: you can disable the automatic loading of the daily schedule
Scheduling
- Fixed schedule: is the default playlist, in the absence of scheduled programming of basic template and basic clock, will be loaded from airing, the management of the file takes place in Philo.
- Template: list offers templates created in Philo, The selected one will be loaded if no schedule.
- Clock: The list proposes the clock created in Philo, The selected one will be loaded if no schedule and template.
- Template automation: automation is created in Philo, Select the one to apply.
- Filler insert mode: indicates the type of selection of filler. With Cyclic the program will attempt to rotate the greatest possible number of files, with Duration through the file selection priority will be given to the always time to fill and therefore to the length of the file, with Runtime Scheduling playout will follow the settings of the base clock. We recommend you to set the Duration of the archive if the filler is wide and varied in terms of duration of the file.
- Template Automation: select the template in which there are automations and events.
- Time signal folder: select folder where the file are stored, the filename must to be like HHMM.mp3 (0700.mp3, 0701.mp3 etc).
- Liner (Base): set default base for all liners.
- Volume liner (Bae): set volume default for liners.
- AGC voice over ON/OFF: id selected increases volume audio for the voice over.
Advertising
Settings It contains the configuration of the area / Split transmitted by the playout and allows an automation of combining the beginning and end of the advertising bar. Automations must have been previously created in Philo Media Manager.
General Select the folders where the files are located with the programming and advertising banners.

Input Mixer
List of available inputs, for each of which can be set:
- File: You can select a video file directly, which could be used as animated wallpaper.
- Playlist manual: you can create a playlist manually in Philo and match it to the stream.
- If you have an acquisition card will be displayed in the list
If it also installed Device Manager you will see a list of automated set (Philo Media Manager).
External Application
It is the list of external applications that can be added to the interface of playout, for example, the recorder, the cart, the hotkey.
Check
When a song is manually entered into the software checks that playlist by author and song they meet the minimum times of separation included in this mask.
Device command
This is the form where you set your keys to control external devices directly from the playout (Tools) Then push the Add button to add and check off the action proposed in the list; click Add page to add pages (tab). Click Save to save your changes.
Database
Select the type of database used.

Font
It allows customizing the font used in the playout.
Local source
Lists the sources set in Philo and it is possible to change them in case they are locally different.
Script
Under Script you can generate the instructions that will be applied when you start the software.
Mode is the start mode, that is how it should be loaded playlist:
- Since the beginning
- Last position (relative to the main playout to point to the next field)
- Last position delay (for delay is the time of starting the software)
- Current time

Automation of device
Workspace
The user’s workspace is divided into several parts:
- A => history of the last file transmitted
- B => data on the file on the air
- C => active playlist
- D => control volume and status of the playout (auto / manual)
- E => display delay / advance and data on the type of programming with which you are working
- F => information on the next commercial break
- G => database, log, tools for operations on playlist
- H => display of waveform file in play and two subsequent files
- I => general information on configuring the software, cueing and trimmer.
- L => Additional Applications. Es. Cart, Hotkey, Recorder
Event on air (Area B)
- 1 => Time is missing the point of INTRO set in the card file in Philo Media Manager
- 2 => Position to which came the reproduction
- 3 => Time Left
- 4 => Title
- 5 => Artist
- 6 => name and file path
- 7 => File length
- 8 => Intro
- 9 => category of membership
- 10 => Stock coupled to file
- 11 => Position in playlist
- 12 => programming mode of the file (CLOCK, TEMPLATE, USER or if the date and time to schedule)

Playlist (Area C)
In this area you will find the complete list of what makes up the playlist; for each element are specified several data such as title, author, time programming, duration etc.
- 1 => Title
- 2 => Author
- 3 => path and file name. If it is written in red it means that the file is missing or can not be reached
- 4 => Category
- 5 => File length, by Markin at Markout
- 6 => Intro
- 7 => Year
- 8 => Image
- 9 => Position in playlist
- 10 => Day and hour programming, or programming mode (User, Clock, etc. Template.)
- 11 => delay expected by time programming
- 12 => Real time playing
If the icon is green it means that the file is Adjustable, so if necessary, in the presence of a StopSet for example, can be reduced automatically using the duration parameters Intro and Outro | |
If the icon is green it means that the file is suspendable. then in case of need the file can be removed from the playlist | |
If the icon is green it means that the file is linked to the next file. If it is yellow it means it is linked to the previous and is the last of the group of objects linked. | |

To insert a new element in the playlist, click the Add button and select the file from the database; the file will be inserted before the one on which one is positioned to perform the insertion | |

By clicking with the right mouse button on the record, you’ll see a menu with several options:
- Trimmer: It allows you to edit and markin markout file directly from Flu-O
- SizeDeletes the selected item from the playlist
- Copy: Copy the selected item
- Paste: Paste the position where the mouse is on the copied item or cut

Info
Tab summarizes the data configuration of playout, the version of the license and the expiration date.
Settings
You can load the schedule for a specific day by selecting it from the calendar. The operation is only possible to stop playout.
Trimmer
Thanks to the trimmer you can set markin and markout a file directly from the playlist; the changes will apply only to the file in the playlist and will not be saved in the database, where the file will continue to maintain the same values. By clicking Trimmer will see a new tab in the upper right corner.

Playlist, Libraries, Log, Tools (Area G)
Playlist
Playlist
displays the list of all the files have been supplied and those planned.
- If the programming was done originated in Philo as schedule, it will be reported in the column Scheduled fee for the airing.
- If you loaded a playlist manual will be reported Palimpsest Manual.
- If the item was entered by the user directly in Flu-O, the words will be User.
The information already provided are displayed in italics.

Operations:
List of playlist manuals disaponibili.Cliccando Clear Playlist button will delete all scheduled events in the left.
Drag the playlist to be transmitted in the left (Area C), if the Replace All button is pressed, will be eliminated throughout the current playlist and add the selected one.
If tatso Loop is pressed, the playlist will be inserted transmitted indefinitely.
Libraries
All the archive entered and managed by Philo Media Manager is here available to the user for a quick entry into playlist. For enter a new file click the Enter button in the left list and double-click the item that you want to enter choosing from the list of the database; the file will be inserted before the element that has been pressed Insert. For replace a file already in the playlist, press the Change button at what you want to replace with a double click and select the new file.
Tools
Commands to devices
Under Device command are all keys associated with external controls, these controls are set in Philo Media Manager.
Log
Transmitted
- White: item played
- Green: file transmitted properly
- Red: The file was not sent and the Status column indicates the reason
- gray: the file was suspendable and has not been transmitted
Application
displays the list of all the operations that the playout plays, both automatic and controlled by the user: file preparation, sending parameters to the graphics, add, delete, change of files etc.
Break
In the Break section is the list of scheduled commercial breaks and at the bottom the details for each.
If the line break is red, you are missing one or more files to that bar advertising
Additional applications (Area L)
You can create more than one keyboard shortcut, customizing the number of keys and files combined.
Click on the name of the hotkeys to see the list of keyboard shortcuts available, to create new ones, to eliminate existing and to configure the data output and the number of keys. | |

Flu-O Radio – Quick start guide
First use
Configure the Playout
After installation you will find the icon on your desktop Radio Playout Configuration, open the program, click on the Edit button.
Device
- Output Device: Select the sound card to use for outgoing
- Cueing device: select the audio to be used for cueing
Press Save to save your changes.
Basic functions
Insert, change, remove a file
Click the Add button and select a file from the database; to access the database, managed by Philo, right-click the Libraries tab and choose the table from which you want attingere.Il file will be inserted before the one on which we are positioned to make the inserimento.Se the Playout is Automatic ON the file will start immediately, otherwise click Next; for the end of the inserted file playout automatically switch to the next is necessary that the software is set to AUTOMATIC ON.Per change a file already loaded, click on the Change button and select the new file from the list of destra.Per remove a file, only prevents this list, click Delete.
Drag and Drop
E ‘can put files in the lineup even with the drag and drop. Select the list of library file and drag it into position in scaletta.Con Drag and drop you can also change the order of execution of items in playlist.
Upload Playlist Manual
To load a Manual playlists created in Philo scroll right to the tab Palimpsest => Operations and drag the play list on the left.
