Create the time signal

Clips

Prepare a folder that contains all the hour file and one with the minute files, the file name must be the name of the time or minutes it contains; for example, the seven o’clock file will be called 07.mp3.

Create the following clips:

  • Start and/or end jingles (if expected)
  • Audio Base
  • Audio hours (e.g. K:\TIME\HOURS\<HH>. MP3)</HH>
  • Minute audio (e.g. K:\TIME\MINUTES\<mm>. MP3)</mm>

Composition

Under Database -> Compositions create a composition using Jingle, Base, and time and minute clips.

Place the Name in Description, and in the same way that you build a Clock, drag the files you want from the library on the right to the list on the left of the screen.

So for example:

  • TIME SIGNAL BASE set as Whole Background if the file should go its entire length).
  • WAIT Wait if the first part of the base has a speech (e.g. “It’s le”) indicating the double-click wait time in the LENGTH column.
  • CLIP OF THE HOURS
  • MINUTE CLIP

the composition generates a .xml file that is saved to the shared folder

K:\SHARED\Data\CH1\Compositions\TIME SIGNAL.xml

In Database -> Clips, create a new clip that has the xml of the composition you just created as a file and check Ignore Markout, and this will be the Clip you want to program.

If you need a video to match the time signal, enter the composition path in the Audio Files field and the video in the File Name field.
